I accidentally arrived in Lower Saxony near the Harz Mountains in Germany, where I spent winter and had a time of isolation and self-assessment which became a prologue of sorts to this quarantine period. Here I stayed in an Ayurveda healing centre which also seeks to incorporate knowledge of traditional European medicine. The basis of the treatment at this center consists of a rigorous diet, Ayurvedic remedies, massage with special oils and the practice of a yoga linked to the Kalari martial art, which according to many is the ancient basis of the Chinese martial arts system. Much of the knowledge of this art was lost due to its ban in India during the British colony period. Here a conjunction of two ancient traditions takes place.
